The Usui Reiki Shiki Ryoho Gakkai (Traditional Reiki Methods & Techniques)

Post by John.Apostolidis »

Usui Reiki Principles
The Reiki Principles exist in various forms in the west and around the world in general.
Many of them contain words that are completely added by some "inspired" teachers, such as
"Honor your parents, elders and teachers".

These are the Reiki Principles as adopted by Mikao Usui from the Meiji Emperor.
The Secret Method of Inviting Blessings.
The spiritual Medicine of Many Illnesses.
For today only do not anger, do not worry.
Be Grateful and
Do your work with appreciation.
Be kind to all living things.
In the morning and at night,
with hands held in prayer,
Think this in your mind,
chant this with your mouth.
The Usui Reiki Method to change your mind and body for the better

These are the sensei's writtings from the Mikao Usui hikkei.

The Usui Reiki System was not founded exclusively as a holistic healing method but as an enlightenment system which as a side effect allow its users to heal themselves and others. It was designed to connect  and make the practitioner communicate with the Universal Source of light and life energy. Anger,
These principles are made to keep us alerted its time that ego based
behaviors and feelings take place in our everyday life and make it hard to connect and be with this Universal source of divine light and wisdom.

The principles were to be said morning and at night, with hands held in the Gassho position (Namaste).
Having them in mind 24 hous a day helps as very much to become better and better beings.
When you have these simple things in your mind, they act like a good behaviour guides each time that you become worried, ungry or impolite to to others .

Dear John & members,
So important to imbibe these principles.
So many times we overlook them
Its a good practice to reiterate them along with the attitude of gratitude during every session.
No healing is complete without these.
Thanks John for reminding.
God Bless.

Hello
I would like to talk about another wonderful Reiki technique.
It called Reiki Mawashi.
This in English means Reiki circle.
To be done, a group of reiki practitioners in
a circle are needed.
The hands must be held with each ones left hand palm up and each ones right palm down.
The left hand is placed against the next person's right hand.
By this way a circular connection of the practitioners is done.
The reiki energy comes down from the crown then down the right arm to the hand and then goes into the left hand of the next person .
The energy moves into all and around the circle.
The energy levels are too high and the flow very strong.
Its preferable to not wear shoes if standing or sitting on chairs to be well grounded.
Another useful technique which can be used for various reasons which could be a fast healing session or massive energy postal to a purpose or case of the past or of the future.
Each one must have the palm of the left hand on the shoulder of the next person and the right hand facing the center of the circle where could be the patient person or a photo or a piece of paper with the puprose or the situation...
This techniques can be practiced from all levels.
Good luck and Enjoy.

Dear John &  members,
Thanks for posting this & explaining one of the most beautiful Reiki Experiences one can have.
I remembered the day I was attuned to Usui Reiki 1. This was one of the many Reiki exercises we were taught & practiced. It's amazing. If you haven't done it before do invite some fellow Reiki practitioners & do it. You will cherish it forever. Though we were only 4 including my teacher it was really intense. Imagine that on your first Reiki day.
I always look forward to such experiences like the "Reiki Mawashi" more than an Attunement.
Thanks again John.
God Bless

Hatsurei Ho
Hatsu - Invoke/Generate, Rei - Spirit, Ho - Method
'Hatsu Rei Ho' originates in Tendai Buddhism, and the exercises have correspondences with Tibetan Buddhist purification rituals, Taoist or meridian massage, and QiGong too. Hatsu Rei Ho is designed to be carried out every day for at about 10-15 minutes, and is the basis of the practice of Reiki in the Gakkai. It is something that is done conscientiously at all levels: First Degree, Second Degree and Master levels.

The Japanese word ‘Ho’ means ‘technique’, so you will find it attached to a number of Reiki techniques. ‘Hatsu Rei’ means ‘start up Reiki’, and ‘Hatsu Rei Ho’ can be taken as meaning a technique to start up and strengthen your Reiki. This method, together with the Reiju empowerments that you received on the First Degree course, are the basic techniques of Usui's Reiki training as it is practised in Japan today.
It was taught that it is not enough simply to receive a Reiki empowerment, although the Reiki ability will never leave you. If a student wanted to progress on their spiritual path, they needed to do three things:

[*]Continue to receive Reiju empowerments on a regular basis,
[*]Practice Hatsu Rei Ho daily,
[*]Live the 'Reiki Principles' as part of their life.

Sit up straight Rest your hands, palms down, on your legs / in your lap. Close your eyes and 'hara-centre' yourself; focus your awareness on your seika tanden.
Focusing (Mokunen) Next, make a silent statement of your intent: “I'll begin Hatsurei-ho meditation now.

Dry Bathing (Kenyoku)
Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. First, bring your right hand up to your left shoulder, palm flat and facing the body.
Move your hand diagonally down across your body from the left shoulder towards your right hip.
Next, bring your left hand up to your right shoulder and do the same thing. Repeat this sequence twice more. Then, placing your right hand on the edge of your left shoulder - with left arm held straight out in front of you - move your right hand, along the outside of your left arm, and down over the end of the fingers. Do the same thing with the left hand on right arm. Repeat the process once more.
Connection
Raise your hands up above your head, keeping them in line with your shoulders. Your palms face upwards, fingers pointing out to the sides. Feel the Reiki energy flowing down from above, pouring into your uplifted open hands as a stream of crystal clear light. It flows down your arms and through your body, down into your seika tanden. When you can feel the flow of Reiki, gently lower your hands to your lap once more, this time with palms up.
The 'Spirit/Soul Cleansing Breath' (Joshin Kokyu ho):
Bring the focus of your awareness gently to your seika tanden once more, and as you breathe in and feel the Reiki energy flowing down from above, as a stream of crystal clear light. The light floods into your crown, and flows down throughout your body into your seika tanden. As your body exhales, be aware that you are emanating the light from every single pore - from the entire surface of your being - and the light radiates out in all directions to infinity.
Praying Hands (Gassho)
Bring your hands up together in the gassho position, and gently move the focus of your awareness to where the pads of the middle fingers touch.
Maintain this awareness for as long as you feel drawn to so do.
Concentration Meditation' (Seishin Toitsu)
When you feel ready, be aware that as you inhale, the crystal clear Reiki light is being likewise being 'breathed' in through your hands and pours straight into your seika tanden. As your body exhales be aware that the crystal clear Reiki light is being likewise being breathed out from your seika tanden - and on out through your hands.

Repeating the Precepts Three Times (Gokai Sansho)
Just for today;
Don't get angry
Don't worry
Be grateful
Workhard Be kind to others

Focusing (Mokunen) Returning your hands to your lap, silently state:
"I am finishing Hatsurei Ho now."
