Reiki Myth

Post by chandresh_kumar »

Having a Reiki Attunement Will Open Up a Dialog with Your Spirit Guide

Insatiability to get a Reiki attunement with the promise of a glimpse into the spirit world may always not become true. :n0

This myth may have arisen out by the words of Diane Stein. In her book Essential Reiki, she conveys that how many students became aware of who their guides were after months of using Reiki following their level II attunements. ;)

The urban legend that followed was that the attunement alone would make this happen. Some Reiki II classes include a promise to "Meet your Guides" Yes, it could happen and likely has happened for some Reiki initiates, but there is no guarantee.

This promise could set you up for a big disappointment of your students. Hoping for a meeting with your guides or angels should not be the sole reason to take a Reiki class.

If I Get Reiki Once, I’m Healed Forever.

I wish this was correct. :gL

It is true in case of exceptions, that in a Single Reiki session a patient heal and cure of something forever. Healing is holistic and as such, healing is a path, a process.

To make significant shifts on this path on significant issues, patients are recommended to take atleast 3 to 4 Reiki sessions at a time.

Typically patients have to do this. Then they can take a break. A few months later they have to come again for another specific issue of few more rows of sessions. Alternatively, if we commence a preventative health maintenance program, we do a session about once a month. No matter whether we work on our health preventative or reactive: healing always is a process.

The Reiki flow is depend on physical health of the practitioner.

Clinical researches found that even a very sick, weak person who is correctly initiated or attuned to Reiki, can give treatments that are just as strong and effective like a Healthy Reiki Practitioner. However this healing also good for recovery of Reiki Practitioner.

This conclude that the Reiki energy is not coming from the physical energy of the practitioner’s body, as physical energy becomes weak according to sick health condition.

Reiki only works if you pay for it.

This myth was probably started as a way for Takata and other early masters to justify the fees they charged their students. Reiki practitioners certainly have a right to charge for their services -- everybody has a right to make a living -- but, a Reiki healing session will help the recipient whether it is paid for or is received free of charge.

Energy is the different in both hands, as we sense.

The flow and effectiveness of the Reiki are the same in both hands. There is no 'giving' or 'receiving' hand to worry about when using Reiki. Simply put, if you treat a person for one hour with one hand they will get as much as they would if they were treated with both hands. The quality would not be altered. You could also treat one person with one hand and another person with the other hand.

There are many 'polarized' systems which observe rules on polarity with regard to the hands. For example, keeping both hands on the patient; not crossing the hands; treating on the correct side of the body, etc. There is nothing wrong with those systems. They are, however, unnecessary when using Reiki on its own. If you are combining Reiki with other systems, then you may want to observe the rules of the other system. That will not influence the effectiveness of the Reiki. It will continue to flow and work despite those rules.

Symbols are the energy

Few prevailing forms of Reiki keep adding symbols in the trust of increasing the energy. They become addicted to this thought and need more and more to become what they believe they are not - 'powerful'. This is because of the wrong belief that the symbols are the energy themselves.

Everything has energy and the system of Reiki works with the energy of everything. Energy cannot be put in boxes, it cannot be contained.

By believing that the symbols are energy means that you believe they are like a magic wand. This is an external view of life, one that relies on things outside of us to change us and our situations. It takes away our self-responsibility - the very fundamental understanding of the system of Reiki.

Only we can create the change we want in our lives - it must come from within. :F0

While healing, a Reiki healer should not wear watches, jewellery, belt etc.

However, it is my own experience, my two wrist watches stopped working, after my first and second attunement. But even after this, I believe it is a myth, as most of the Reiki healers never complain.

Reiki energy cannot be altered or hindered and there is nothing Reiki cannot penetrate, which is why you can treat people over clothes, horses can be treated through their rugs, etc. Rattling jewellery should be removed just because it would be annoying, but not for any other reason. :F0
