✦ Introduction

About this Pathway

What does it mean to ask, Who am I, without reaching for a ready-made answer? Can the familiar sense of being an observer be examined the way we examine a sound or a sensation? How do intention, memory and anticipation appear in immediate experience? And what happens to the sense of me and other when we listen carefully in ordinary life?

Advanced Self-Inquiry & Nondual Awareness is Level 3 of The Holistic Care Awareness Pathway. Level 1, Three Doorways to Awareness, invites you to notice. Level 2, The Witness Lab, invites you to investigate. Level 3 invites you to inquire more deeply into the witness, the felt sense of self and experience in ordinary life.

It builds on The Witness Lab without asking learners to accept a metaphysical doctrine. Across six weeks, each teaching video introduces a question. Guided audios provide real, intentional silence for investigation. The companion journal helps distinguish direct observation from explanation, while keeping practical responsibilities and relationships fully in view.

This is an educational contemplative course, not therapy or a promise of enlightenment. You may stop, return to the room, or leave any question unanswered.

✦ The Central Question

“Can the witness itself be found as an object?”

The Witness Lab closed with this question, and Level 3 begins here. It is an invitation to look, not a conclusion to accept. An honest “I don’t know” or “I could not find anything” is always a valid answer.

✦ The Method

Ask, look, and leave room for silence

Each week a short video introduces one question. Two guided inquiries give you real, intentional silence to investigate it. The journal helps you tell what was directly noticed from what was added as explanation, and every practice ends by returning to the room, your relationships and your responsibilities.

  1. Notice
  2. Inquire
  3. Observe
  4. Reflect
  5. Return to ordinary life

✦ Six Weeks · Sixteen Guided Audios

✦ Why It Matters

  • An ability to describe experience precisely before drawing conclusions.
  • Greater familiarity with the thought, sensation, image and story components of the sense of I.
  • A practical way to leave questions open rather than forcing certainty.
  • A respectful approach to identity, agency and relationships that retains real-world accountability.
  • One optional daily-life inquiry that can be used without neglecting ordinary activities.

✦ What you will learn

  • Tell a direct observation from a remembered statement, inference, or philosophical belief.
  • Notice how the felt observer can be represented by thoughts, images, sensations, and habitual locations.
  • Investigate the question Who am I without demanding a fixed verbal answer.
  • Observe shifts in identity during mild everyday interpersonal situations.
  • Distinguish perceived intention, action, and after-the-fact explanation while preserving practical agency.
  • Recognise memory and anticipation as present mental activities without dismissing real history or future plans.
  • Explore perceived inner/outer boundaries without ignoring the reality of others, consent, or safety.
  • Establish a realistic, non-compulsory daily-life practice.

✦ Perfect For
